Exciting Updates to YouTube Studio Mobile: Enhancements for Creators
====================================================================
Hello, insiders! I'm Lauren, a program manager at YouTube and the producer of Creator Insider. If it's Tuesday, it's Newsday, and today we have some exciting updates to share regarding YouTube Studio Mobile that aim to enhance the experience for creators of all sizes and formats.
Revamped Content Tab in Studio Mobile
-------------------------------------
Over the past few years, YouTube has added more format types to its platform. In response, we're revamping the content tab in Studio Mobile to better cater to the needs of creators. The updated content tab will now provide an overview of various formats, including videos, shorts, live streams, and playlists, organized by their respective shelves.

Creators will have the option to view each format in a list format by clicking "view all" on the respective shelf. Additionally, if a creator has content scheduled, a scheduled filter chip will be available to declutter the overview page and free up space for important performance data, such as views and likes.
Monetization and visibility statuses will only display when there is an issue or when the video is not public. To view the monetization or visibility status, creators can click "view all," which will display the information from the video list. These updates will be rolling out to all creators over the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
Upgrades to the Comments Tab, Now Renamed "Community"
-----------------------------------------------------
Next, let's discuss some upgrades coming to the comments tab in YouTube Studio. We’ve received feedback from creators regarding the need for more tools and features to help them understand and build relationships with their audience. Many have expressed that moderating and navigating comments can sometimes feel overwhelming.

To address this feedback, we’re excited to announce that the comments tab will now be renamed to "Community". This new name reflects the focus on building connections between creators and their audiences.
In addition to the name change, we are introducing a new section to view audience metrics, allowing creators to see the number of comments and returning viewers at a glance. We’re also adding a community spotlight feature that highlights some of the most engaged viewers, making it easier for creators to identify and engage with them by responding to their comments.
Furthermore, we’re enhancing our AI-powered comment reply suggestions, which will now provide editable suggestions in a creator's own style and tone. This feature will initially be limited to a small number of creators while we test its effectiveness, but we plan to expand it in the coming months. The upgraded Community tab will begin rolling out in the YouTube Studio app shortly.
Expansion of AI-Generated Video Summaries
-----------------------------------------
Last year, we began testing AI-generated video summaries for a small group of users on select English language videos. Based on the feedback from this initial experiment, we are thrilled to announce that we will be expanding AI-generated summaries to more users globally on select English language videos over the next few weeks.

These video summaries utilize generative AI to create concise, basic summaries of YouTube videos, providing viewers with a quick glimpse of what to expect. It's important to note that these AI-generated summaries do not replace or impact a creator's ability to write their own video descriptions. Instead, they complement the description, helping viewers find what they're looking for more efficiently.
If you encounter an AI-generated summary on one of your videos or elsewhere on YouTube, we encourage you to check it out and share your thoughts with us!
Experimenting with an Interactive Chatbot in Studio Desktop
-----------------------------------------------------------
Lastly, we are excited to announce that we are experimenting with a new interactive chatbot in Studio Desktop. This chatbot aims to surface help center content to answer creator questions efficiently. Eligible creators will notice a clickable icon to the right of the search field on Studio Desktop.

We plan to expand this feature to more creators based on the results of our experiments. If you’re interested in testing this feature, let us know in the comments!
Conclusion
----------
That's it for this week’s updates from the creators of YouTube to YouTube creators! We hope these enhancements to the Studio Mobile Content Tab, the Community tab, AI-generated video summaries, and the new interactive chatbot will empower you to create and connect with your audience more effectively. Stay tuned for more updates, and we'll see you next week!
